This is a unique service offered by our volunteers in an effort to enable our patients to receive communications from friends and family members via the internet. Each message is printed on cheerful design paper before being placed in a specially marked confidential envelope ready for delivery.

Sending an e-mail to a patient

To send a message to a hospital patient at the Peter Lougheed Centre, please complete the form below, making sure to include all of the information requested.

Delivery

Every effort will be made to deliver you message within 24 hours. Please do not send messages that are urgent or confidential. We maintain the right not to deliver messages that are deemed inappropriate. We cannot confirm delivery with you, nor can we confirm the patient was or is in the hospital. We cannot forward this message if the recipient is no longer a hospital patient or if we cannot locate the recipient using the information provided.

Confidentiality

E-mail is not secure. Please note, we make every effort to maintain the confidentiality of your message but cannot guarantee it as it may be seen by the volunteer who handles your message. Information in your communication may be subject to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, the Health Information Act and other legislation.

E-mailing patients at the Peter Lougheed Centre is a one-way service only. Patients do not have the means to respond to your message. Please do not expect a reply.
