The AHS - Calgary area has four policies to guide actions which demonstrate our continued commitment to patient safety:

Just and Trusting Culture of Safety... ensures that health-care providers and staff involved in an adverse event are treated fairly.

Reporting Harm, Close Calls and Hazards...ensures harm, hazards and close calls are reported so the AHS - Calgary area learns and can improve quality and safety of care.

Disclosing Harm to Patients...ensures respectful and timely disclosure of harm and ongoing information and support for patients/clients and their family members.

Informing Principal Health Partners & Stakeholders about Safety Hazards, Failures, Fixes...ensures that risks to the well-being and safety of patients are communicated in a timely manner.
