About Environmental Public Health

The Environmental Public Health (EPH) Program of Alberta Health Services - Calgary Region strives to protect and enhance the health of people living in Calgary and the surrounding area by reducing their exposure to physical, chemical, biological and social hazards. Risk assessment and management strategies are developed to address these hazards, including research, development of data collection systems, monitoring and surveillance, advisement, education, advocacy, promotion and enforcement.

 

Four service delivery sections in the EPH Program:
  • North Service Delivery,
  • Central Service Delivery,
  • South Service Delivery,
  • Risk Assessment and Management (RAM).
Administration of the Alberta Public Health Act:

The four service delivery sections of the EPH Program administer the Alberta Public Health Act and Regulations through:
