Collection and Usage of Data

The Southern Alberta Clinic often uses information collected from the routine clinical care of our patients to do important research and planning. The data collected from you is only used as a part of a larger group. Therefore there are no pieces of information presented that could identify you personally.

This information is important because it helps us plan for the future operation and budget of the clinic. We can identify trends among the clinic population and the concerns, issues or problems among our patients.

The Southern Alberta Clinic is fortunate to be able to participate in studies with other centres worldwide. We often share grouped data with the other centres to ensure that our outcomes and treatment at the clinic are at least as good or better than other leading centres in HIV care.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the collection or usage of data, please contact the Patient Care Manager at (403) 955-6399.
