On February 5th, 2007 Health Canada released a revised food guide, the first revision since Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating was originally released in 1992.

The food guide is the key nutrition education tool for Canadians. Eating Well with Canada's Food Guide is intended to guide food choices that promote health and prevents the development of chronic illness.
