The Calgary Region provides newborn care for approximately 20 000 deliveries per year at the Foothills Hospital, Peter Lougheed Centre, and Rockyview Hospital.

The Division of Neonatology provides ancillary newborn services for Southern Alberta at all three hospitals in their level 2 intensive care nurseries and at the level 3 unit at the Foothills Hospital. A dedicated ambulance service provides transport for high risk obstetric cases and sick newborns requiring specialized care.

Surgical care is provided at the Alberta Children's Hospital.
