Title:      Evaluation of the Front Line Leader Initiative

Background: 

 

Role ambiguity has been shown to be a factor in the underutilization of many of our health professionals, but is also clearly an issue for leaders and managers. This project will involve clarification of the role of first line managers and provision of organizational supports (e.g. assistant patient care manager) to enable them to carry out all of the functions associated with the management role (e.g. planning, organization, staffing, directing/leading and controlling).

 

Objectives:

 

To evaluate the Front Line Leader initiative, which aims to optimize the role of managers and provide organizational supports that enhance their ability to fulfill their role functions.

 

Methods:    

 

Qualitative and quantitative methods will be used.
