Can You be Overweight & Healthy?

Have you ever wondered why health professionals keep telling you to lose weight?  Is it because you don’t fit the “normal” weight range?  Or is it because you don’t fit the prescribed body mass index (BMI) which looks at percentage of body fat but not percentage of lean tissue?  There are differences between the implications of the weight of body fat versus lean muscle weight.  While it’s generally agreed that reducing weight by 10% reduces the risk of Type 2 diabetes and heart disease, the question is: are all overweight people at risk?   read more

CONFERENCE

Worldly Wisdom

of THE

WiseQuacks

with Dr. Dave Hepburn, MD & Dr. Robert Sealey, BSc, MD

Saturday, May 15, 2010   9:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Foothills Medical Centre, Auditorium

1403 - 29 Street NW

You may have heard the WiseQuacks on their fun, informative and upbeat health show on the Corus Radio Network.  Hear them live and enjoy the opportunity to ask questions about any medical issue.  You won’t get the dry response you normally associate with doctors.  You will receive expert, helpful information but in a manner that just might leave you “quacked up”.  Join us for this fascinating, informative event to have your questions answered or just for the entertainment.

"The WiseQuacks are beyond hilarious and had the crowd either spellbound or in stitches. Yet it was informative, uplifting and extremely motivational. Their razor sharp repartee with the audience while taking questions has to be experienced.  Walked out of there with sore ribs."
