Dr. Gene Flessati

Interested in learning more about social anxiety disorder or relationship issues? Then perhaps it’s time you met Dr. Gene Flessati. A clinical psychologist with the Calgary Health Region, Dr. Flessati’s interests include anxiety and mood disorders, health psychology, relationship issues, psychological resilience, and the promotion of psychological health and well-being. Over the years, Dr. Flessati has written numerous articles on mental health issues. He’s also appeared as a guest on CityTV’s Breakfast Television.

Dr. Gene Flessati is a Clinical Psychologist who works in an outpatient mental health clinic in the Calgary Health Region. His clinical interests include anxiety and mood disorders, health psychology, relationship issues, psychological resilience, and the promotion of psychological health and well-being.

Gene is a regular guest on CityTV’s Breakfast Television (formerly The Big Breakfast) and firmly believes that we can all benefit from understanding the important role that psychological factors play in our lives. Gene's engaging approach helps de-mystify and de-stigmatize mental health issues. In addition to his contributions to Breakfast Television, he also contributes his psychological insights to other radio, television and newspaper organizations on a regular basis. Gene was awarded the John G. Paterson Media Award by the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta for his efforts at disseminating psychological information through the media. Gene also received a PeopleFirst Award, as well as a Take a Bow Award, from the Calgary Health Region for his media work.

Gene trains and supervises Psychology Interns and holds adjunct appointments with the Program in Clinical Psychology (Department of Psychology) and the Department of Psychiatry (Faculty of Medicine) at the University of Calgary.
