Your Family Member is in an ICU...

Having a family member in an ICU can be a stressful experience. This website is designed to provide you with some information that will help you gain an understanding of the Intensive Care Unit's routines, equipment and the health care team that are involved in the care of your loved one. We recognize that the need for information is an important part of caring for family members. Please feel free to discuss any additional questions with the doctor or nurse responsible for your loved one's care.

The Department of Critical Care Medicine would like to invite families / patients to sit on the Patient and Family Centered Care Quality Program. The program provides a forum to develop a collaborative relationship among health care providers, patients and families to enhance patient and family centered care. If you are interested in obtaining more information, please send an email to any of the three managers of the Intensive Care Units or to the Coordinator for Quality.
