The Calgary Breast Health Program was opened in late 2004 with a vision to provide excellence in breast health care.  The program consists of a breast health clinic (first opened on November 1990) that provides services to individuals with any breast health concern, nurse navigation for individuals newly diagnosed breast cancer, education classes and psychosocial support services. The team is committed to ensuring that timely, integrated, and coordinated breast health services are readily accessible. Program staff are committed to ensuring that standards of care are second to none.

The Calgary Breast Health Program works closely with the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, the University of Calgary and community agencies. The Breast Health Clinic is the cornerstone of the program, staffed with surgeons, registered nurses and clerical support staff who work closely with diagnostic imaging, pathology, oncology and psychosocial support services.  Program staff assure quality of care is offered to all individuals diagnoses with breast cancer through Nurse Navigation services and education classes. Individuals seen in private surgeon offices can now access these services, attending education classes, receiving standardized educational resources and support.
