Nurse Navigators

Nurse Navigator(s) initiate contact with newly diagnosed breast cancer patients to offer support, education, information and resources from the time of their initial diagnoses through to their initial consultation visit at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre.  In addition, Nurse Navigator(s) works closely with the patients' surgeon and other health care professionals to provide seamless movement through the health care system.  Nurse Navigators are now available at all 3 acute care sites in the Region.  To read a personal story of a patient being navigated through the Nurse Navigator Program,  click here.
