FOOTHILLS MEDICAL CENTRE PATIENT HOSTEL

Additional Information

Parking

Parking services are available on the hospital grounds at $10.00 per day. As well, weekly and monthly parking passes can be purchased from the Admitting Department Cashier, located in the Emergency entrance of the Main Hospital, or from the Parking Office, located in the basement of the North Tower.

Patients who will be staying for a long term, or who need plug-ins for their cars, can make arrangements with the Parking Office.

Bank Machine

Bank machines are located in the lobby of the Main Hospital and in the Special Services Building.

Clothing and Essentials

Please bring along items that you will need during your stay (examples, clothing, slippers, shampoo, toothbrush and alarm clock as there is no wake-up service).

All items brought into the Patient Hostel are done so at the patient’s own risk. The Patient Hostel will not accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal articles kept in your room. Safety deposit boxes for any valuables are available in the Admitting Department located in the Emergency entrance of the Main Hospital.

Medication

You are responsible for bringing with you and taking your own medication during your stay. There is an Outpatient Pharmacy located on the main floor of the Main Hospital Building that offers pharmacy services to the patients at the Foothills Medical Centre.

Treatment Schedule and Appointment Times

It is your responsibility to look after your treatment schedules and appointment times.

Food Services

Meals can be purchased in the Timberline Cafeteria (located in the Main Hospital, Ground Floor), Garden Deli Restaurant (Special Services Building) or Cravings (North Tower). Items such as tea, coffee, juice, bread, and condiments will be available in the 12th and 13th floor kitchens. These items are restocked Tuesdays and Thursdays. Vending machines are located on the 4th floor entrance of the South Tower.

Housekeeping

You will be responsible for making your own bed. The housekeeping staff changes bed linen on discharge and once per week. Some extra linen (sheets, towels) are located on the linen cart in the 12th and 13th floor kitchens.

There are coin-operated laundry facilities on each floor of the Patient Hostel. Please bring your own detergent.

Fire Exits

Fire exits are located at the end of each corridor. Fire drills are done routinely during the day and evening hours. Please review the fire regulations posted on the back of your door.
