The Alberta Children's Hospital plays a major role in the Southern Alberta Child and Youth Health Network, also referred to as the Network. Formed in 2001 at the time of planning for the new children’s hospital, the Network is an intersectoral collaboration among individuals and organizations concerned with the health and well being of children, youth and families. Parents, child-serving ministries, provincial agencies, regional authorities, First Nations, universities, and not-for-profit agencies work together and use their collective strength to promote high quality, coordinated services that are accessible and as close to home as possible.
